ACMI Equipment

ACMI's Arlington Studio has spent the last year and a half investing more than twenty thousand dollars in creating a state-of-the-art digital video production and cablecasting facility. The result is a studio that will serve the Arlington Community for the next decade. It features portable video production equipment that is used currently in many modern day films, and it offers the Arlington Community an opportunity to enter the new digital age. The cost to ACMI members is only the nominal price of the annual membership fee! Television producers in many production houses pay hundreds to thousands of dollars in rental fee's to use the cutting-edge, professional equipment available to our members here at ACMI. Students at local colleges and universities pay considerable tuition and other fees to have access to such equipment and training. The only fee charged to ACMI members, beyond the small membership fee, is permission to air their completed programs on our channels. The equipment listed below is available for ACMI members to use, without charge. Sign up to join ACMI today! (Download our Membership Application by clicking on "Forms" within the sidebar at left.)

HVR Z1U
The Sony HVR Z1U Camcorder shoots in Native 1080I resolution. It was the first move by ACMI's Arlington Studio into HD (high definition) production. The camera offers high-end options in both audio and video. Now, as user, you have full control over iris, shutter speed, audio levels, and white balance. The camera also doubles as a simulated film camera shooting in a 25P (frames per second) format nearly identical to film.

JVC GY-HD250U Camcorder
This was the second HD camera purchased by ACMI, marking the next step in the first sudio upgrade in nearly thirty years. This camera now anchors Arlington Studio in the Digital Age, and it takes ACMI a step closer to full HD acquisition and distribution. This is a sharp camera that produces vibrant color levels and a user interface second to none in the industry.

Broadcast Pix Video Switcher
Only Broadcast Pix Studio combines a professional control panel and the essential tools of a broadcast control room with the power of a contemporary workstation. Winner of five industry awards, it is bi-modal, mixing video from video cables and computer files. The system has three physical elements: hard control panel, workstation and frame or router. This Windows-based video switcher was a major upgrade during the pat year at ACMI's Arlington Studio and will serve as the cornerstone of our new, fully-digital control room and studio.

HVR M25U Record Deck
Incorporating a compact and simple design, as well as a built-in 2.7" LCD display, the HVR-M25U is well suited for our new compact control room design. It can record in both SD and HD Formats. Now you, as user, never need to worry about whether you are recording correctly. Simply look at the front LCD display of this deck to clearly see that the deck is recording audio and video correctly.
